Avoid Those Commercials

By September 21st, 2009

Ever think that the commercials are the worst thing on TV and wish you could hide them from kids’ eyes?  There are several solutions that work pretty well.  Having a TiVo or some other Digital Video Recorder (DVR) on your cable box will allow you to skip forward past those little clips you wished you had never seen.

Another solution is to record the TV with a capture card (TV Tuner) on your computer and then use software such as DVRMSToolBox or Lifextender to automatically remove them or jump past them as you watch.  I’ve used DVRMSToolBox  with Windows Media Center for years and have really enjoyed missing the inappropriate commercials during some shows.

Saves me a bit of time too!

We use TiVo to skip commercials in our house. I get really annoyed when I have to watch live TV and sit through the commercials.
